Hundreds gather to honour life of former Blue Bomber executive, Jerry Maslowsky

WINNIPEG — Hundreds of Winnipeggers gathered at the Winnipeg Convention Centre Thursday evening, to pay respects to former Blue Bomber executive, Jerry Maslowsky.

A Celebration of Life was held for Maslowsky who died on Saturday evening after battling cancer. Stacey Nattress, the anthem singer for the Winnipeg Jets, sang ‘Jealous of Angels’ by Phil Corrin at the ceremony, while more than 300 people gathered to watch a video tribute of Maslowsky.

The 58-year-old had been the CEO of Variety, the Children’s Charity of Manitoba since 2014. But Maslowsky became best known for his work with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

His family is recommending donations be made to either Variety or the Never Alone Foundation.
