According to police, a 19-year-old woman attended the Mount Sinai Hospital emergency room for medical treatment.

Officers were called around 5 a.m. Tuesday after the woman reported she was sexually assaulted by the nurse.

Yan (Arn) Xie, 34, of Toronto has been charged with sexual assault and was scheduled to appear in a Toronto court on Tuesday.

A spokeswoman for Mount Sinai Hospital said Wednesday the nurse has been placed on a leave of absence while the investigation continues.
