Girl safe, Saskatoon man charged with child pornography

A girl is safe and a Saskatoon man has been charged with child pornography following a tip from a U.S. internet provider to the Saskatchewan internet child exploitation (ICE) unit.

The ICE unit was told by the provider that a user was saving child sexual images to their account.

The account was shut down and the evidence sent to the ICE unit.

Members of ICE unit linked the information to some online child exploitation activity and were able to trace the activities to a Saskatoon address.

On Thursday, a home in Saskatoon was searched.

Police said they located child pornography on computers and other devices, along with inappropriate sexual statements and actions with a girl, who is a family member.

A 43-year-old Saskatoon man is charged with accessing child pornography, possession of child pornography, voyeurism, making child pornography and invitation to sexual touching.

His name is not being released to protect the identity of the girl, who police say is safe.

He is scheduled to appear Friday in Saskatoon provincial court.
