A small fire that sparked on Commonage Road between Predator Ridge and Carrs landing on Wednesday was likely human caused.
Crews from BC Wildfire and the Lake Country Fire Department were called to the Rank 1 fire around 11:30 Wednesday morning.
The fire only grew to about five metres square.
Vernon Initial Attack Crew Leader Jamie Sawchuk said there have been no lightning strikes in the area, and the fire is likely human caused.
“Well the message to people I think we want to pass along to everyone is just being safe with fire, being safe with your cigarette butts, with your vehicles, and making sure you’re not dragging chains and there’s no source of ignition,” Sawchuk said.
