New ICBC system may create service delays

ICBC is upgrading their computer systems and says to expect delays.

For the first time in 40 years, the Insurance Corporation of B.C. is upgrading their systems and is warning customers there may be some delays in service.

As the public insurer implements a change to its computers, services like vehicle registrations and policy purchases could be impacted.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

But ICBC says all that’s needed is for people to remain patient.

The $400-million project is the largest upgrade to technology at ICBC in decades.

ICBC is optimistic that that system will be fully online by August 21.
