Two Regina teens charged after pedestrian struck

Two teenagers from Regina have been charged following two collisions on Tuesday evening.

At approximately 8:30 p.m. on Monday, police were called to the Winnipeg Street and Victoria Avenue intersection for a report of a man who had been hit by a vehicle.

Police said the vehicle fled from the scene and the man was taken to hospital for minor injuries. According to police, the female driver and the man knew each other before the collision.

Then minutes later, police were called to Broad Street and 2nd Avenue North for another crash involving the same vehicle. Police said the vehicle struck a tree and part of a house on the 200 block of Broad Street.

The two suspects fled on foot but were located and arrested shortly after.

Victoria Lee Andrews, 18, is facing seven charges including theft of a motor vehicle and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.

The second suspect, a 17-year-old girl, cannot be named due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act. She faces three mischief charges and one charge for possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000.

Andrews and the 17-year-old girl both appeared in court Wednesday afternoon.
