Surrey RCMP have two men in custody following a carjacking in the Guildford area.

The incident took place around 11:30 p.m. Friday night when police tried to stop a car at 128th Street and 108th Avenue.

The car eventually stopped but as officers began to approach they were made aware the car in question had been recently reported stolen.

The driver then reversed and rammed into the police squad car.

Police say no one was hurt but both cars suffered minor damage.

One of the suspects in the car fled the scene but the other was arrested by police.

Members of Surrey’s gang enforcement division caught the second suspect later that night with the help of the K-9 unit.
