RCMP are stepping up patrols this long weekend, looking for impaired drivers.
“RCMP would like to advise the public that we will continue to step up CounterAttack road checks throughout Kelowna and the Central Okanagan over the August long weekend,” Cst. Jesse O’Donaghey said in a press release.

Police are also warning boaters that patrols will be happening on area lakes.
RCMP say it is well known that drinking and operating a water craft can lead to dangerous situations.
It is also illegal, and can lead to criminal charges, just like drinking and driving on the roads.
