The person who found a USB stick, full of old photos from the Second World War, wants to return the device to its original owner.
The hard drive, loaded with photos from the Second World War and a word document featuring the recollection of a veteran’s experience in the war, was found in the Harbour Air Seaplanes parkade in Coal Harbour on Monday by an employee of Seawall Adventure Centre.
Some of the images apparently show sailors in the U.S. Navy, including a modern-day photo of some presumed veterans standing in front of a ship.
Another ship featured in the photos has the numbers “570”marked on the side. An online search showed it could possibly be the USS LST-570 that participated in campaigns in the Lingayen Gulf and Okinawa.
One photo also shows a group of sailors standing in front of banners that read “29th Regiment Rooster Company” and “53rd Batt. A.”
With hopes of finding whoever lost the USB stick, the Seawall Adventure Centre in Coal Harbour is keeping the drive and asking anyone who believes it to be theirs to contact them at 604-233-3500.
