MONTREAL – A five-year-old boy is in hospital after he fell from the second floor of a duplex Saturday afternoon.
Montreal police said the incident happened at 2:25 p.m. at a home on d’Assise Street, near de Nice Street in Saint-Leonard.
The child apparently fell from a window located at the back of the duplex.
Montreal police spokesperson, Jean-Pierre Brabant, said the child was conscious and breathing when he was taken to hospital.
The boy is recovering in hospital after suffering injuries to his head and pelvis.
“He is doing well,” Brabant said. “We do not fear for his life.”
The circumstances surrounding the fall are still unclear.
An investigation has been opened and officers are at the scene.
