Redcliff RCMP said Wednesday no charges are currently being considered against the driver of a semi-truck in an ongoing collision investigation.
RCMP were called out to a motor vehicle crash on Highway 884 near Canadian Forces Base (CFB) Suffield involving a pedestrian and a semi-truck Tuesday at about 10:15 a.m.
RCMP said the man who was hit is a soldier with the British Army Training Unit Suffield (BATUS). He had been upgraded to stable condition Wednesday as he recovered in a Calgary hospital after suffering “numerous serious injuries.”
When asked for more details on what the soldier was doing on the highway and why no charges were being considered at this time, RCMP said they hoped to provide more details Thursday.
