A man is in life-threatening condition after an early morning fire in Toronto’s west end.
Emergency crews were called to a house on Lansdowne Avenue near Queen Street West around 5:10 a.m. Sunday after a male passerby saw the fire at the rear of the building.
The male banged on the door to wake the residents inside.
Everyone made it out of house except for one man.
Crews pulled the victim from inside the building and rushed him to hospital with a police escort.
A spokesperson with the Office of the Fire Marshal told Global News the fire is believed to be accidental.
The spokesperson said it was caused by an unattended pot on a stove.
Damage is estimated to be around $50,000.
