STEINBACH, Man. — A former Manitoba judge has been fined after admitting he drove drunk earlier this year.
Michel Chartier pleaded guilty in a Steinbach courtroom to driving with a blood alcohol level over .08.

A charge of impaired driving was stayed.
Chartier was arrested in March by Carberry RCMP.
He was placed on leave and, a week later, resigned from the provincial court.
In addition to paying a $2,000 fine and $600 in court costs, Chartier is also prohibited from driving for one year.
