LASALLE – A Lasalle man who went to desperate measures to find a family doctor has now found one.
On Tuesday, Glenn Wright told Global News that he was going off his heart medication until he could get proper service.
“I suspect that maybe there wasn’t any triage being done on these requests,” Wright told Global News.
Wright, who has suffered three heart attacks since 2001 hasn’t been able to find a family doctor to take his case.

After the story aired on Global News, Wright says he got a call from his CLSC and now has a family doctor.
“Some people would say a miraculous coincidence,” said the LaSalle resident.
“I can’t say exactly how, but I know if I have something that’s on the news at 7:15 a.m. and then at two o’clock that same afternoon I get a call from the CLSC, saying they have found a family doctor (…) I wouldn’t say it was coincidence.”

The 57 year-old man has since visited his new physician.
“Everything went well,” said Wright.
“He was able to prescribe the medication for me and I went to the pharmacy and had it filled out.”
Wright added he sympathizes with those who still find themselves without a family doctor.
“It’s a terrible situation and it shouldn’t even exist in our times,” he said.
More than one in five Quebecers don’t have a family doctor, an issue Québec Health Minister Gaétan Barrette has pledged to address.
Back in April, Barrette revealed a new online portal for Quebecers to self-register and be matched with a family doctor, although critics don’t believe this move will help solve the crisis.
