What does Penticton have to offer? Just ask frontline workers
Penticton is a tourist hot spot during the summer months, with visitors from B.C. and beyond visiting the south Okanagan city.
With tourism one of the city’s biggest revenue generators, Tourism Penticton wants to make sure visitors know all there is to do in the ‘Peach City’.
“Tourism is a huge economic driver for Penticton and the area,” said Tourism Penticton executive director Kelly Hopkins. “We want to make sure people who are in the know, know.”
And those who should be ‘in the know’, according to Tourism Penticton, are frontline workers.
Thursday hospitality staff from around the region were given some insider information at a free event in Penticton about what’s going on in their own backyard.
Nearly 50 local business owners and organizations were showcasing just some of what tourists can see and do. It was on display at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre.
“These type of events help people like me working in customer service,” said hotel staffer Nita Khanal. “Whenever customers ask us about those locations we’ll be able to answer them.”
This is the second year Tourism Penticton has put on the free event.
