MONTREAL – When Vanessa Maggio and Gianni Giancaspro found out their dream wedding at the Montreal Science Centre was cancelled because of strikes in the Old Port, they were devastated.
But after a week of searching, the couple has found a new place to tie the knot.

Last week, the couple found out their big day was cancelled because Old Port workers were going on strike.

The venue told them there wouldn’t be enough staff for the wedding to go ahead as planned.

After sharing their story with Global News, the couple said complete strangers came forward to suggest alternative venues – some even offered up their homes.
In the end, the couple said they found a beautiful venue in downtown Montreal that became available after a last-minute cancellation.
