HAMILTON — One of the men accused of killing Tim Bosma will return to the stand today in a Hamilton court to face cross-examination from the Crown attorney.

A Crown attorney told a Hamilton jury that two accused killers planned for more than a year to steal a truck, abduct and kill its owner and burn the remains in an animal incinerator.

Prosecutor Craig Fraser said Mark Smich and his co-accused Dellen Millard executed their plan with chilling perfection when they allegedly killed Tim Bosma.

Smich, 28, of Oakville, Ont., and Millard, 30, of Toronto, have pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in the death of Bosma, who disappeared after taking two strangers for a test drive in a truck that he was trying to sell online.

Smich has testified the pair planned to steal a truck for the better part of a year and has told court Millard fatally shot Bosma during the May 6, 2013, test drive and burned his body.

Millard’s lawyer has argued that Smich is lying on the stand and that Smich actually shot the Hamilton father in a struggle inside Bosma’s truck.

Smich has said he buried the gun he believes was used to kill Bosma in a forest somewhere in Oakville, Ont., but cannot remember its location.
