RCMP and the B.C. Coroners Service are investigating after finding partially decomposed human remains in Salmon Arm last Friday.
“The Salmon Arm RCMP were called to an area on 6th Street NE [and Lakeshore Drive] on May 20th, which led to the discovery of the remains,” said Cpl. Dan Moskaluk. “The remains were located down an unused steep footpath and appear to be fairly recent.”
Police and the Coroners Service are still trying to identify the person and at this point aren’t saying if it was a man or woman, or if foul play is suspected.
RCMP say the investigation will take time, as they may have to rely on a DNA analysis to confirm the person’s identity.
