MONTREAL – A 58-year-old cyclist is recovering in hospital after he was struck by a car in Lachine overnight.
The collision happened shortly before midnight Saturday on Notre-Dame Street near Saint-Pierre Avenue.
According to Montreal police, a car heading north on Saint-Pierre Avenue hit the cyclist who was crossing Notre-Dame Street.
Witnesses said the cyclist crossed the street against a red light.
He was taken to hospital to be treated for head injuries. Police do not fear for his life.
The driver of the car, 68, met with investigators following the collision.
Police said speed and alcohol were not contributing factors in the crash.
