UPDATE – Similkameen highway reopened after serious crash

UPDATE – The wreckage has been cleared and the highway reopened in both directions.

 

UPDATE – The BC Ambulance service says three people were injured in the two vehicle crash.

One has critical injuries and was taken to hospital by helicopter.

The other two, who suffered serious injuries, were removed by ground ambulance.

 

UPDATE – The highway is expected to reopen between 4:00 and 8:00 p.m.

Suggested alternate routes are via Highway 97 or Highway 3 to Oliver/Osoyoos.

DriveBC expects to issue an update at 4:00 p.m.

KEREMEOS – A multi-vehicle collision has closed Highway 3A in both directions about three kilometres east of Keremeos.

A motorist tells Global Okanagan News the crash involves three vehicles and a medi-vac helicopter was at the scene.

DriveBC reports no detour is available and it isn’t known when the highway will reopen.
