Calgary police will be using checkstops to crack down on commercial vehicles this week.

Officers will be stopping all types and sizes of commercial vehicles, checking them for mechanical fitness, driver qualification, hours of service compliance, load securement and transportation of dangerous goods compliance.

Members of several municipal, provincial and national agencies, including Alberta Commercial Vehicle enforcement, will also be taking part.
