Calgary police are trying to determine if two shootings in the city’s southwest this spring may be related.
The first happened at a house in the 0-100 block of Springbank Mews S.W. on March 16.
A couple living in the home called police at around 6 a.m. after hearing shots fired. They exited their home to find it peppered with what appeared to be shotgun blasts.
Homeowner Andrew Li said at the time he had no idea why his home would be targeted, saying he was sure it was a case of “mistaken identity.”
Police confirmed neither the home nor the residents were known to them.

The second shooting happened at a home in the 0-100 block of Spring Village Lane S.W. at around 5 a.m. on April 29. The residents weren’t home at the time, but officers discovered damage to a Chevrolet Tahoe parked in the driveway as well as the home’s front door and window.
Investigators are trying to determine if both shootings are connected.
On Thursday, police released a photo of a 2004 to 2008 Acura TL seen in the area of the first shooting around the time it happened. The photo was captured via CCTV surveillance footage.
Anyone with information on either incident or the driver of the Acura is asked to call police at 403-266-1234 or contact Crime Stoppers.
