ABERNATHY, SK – Fort Qu’appelle RCMP are investigating a single motor vehicle crash that occurred on Highway 22 just north of Abernethy, SK.
RCMP were called to the scene at 9:15 Sunday morning. According to police, the vehicle left the roadway and entered the ditch and rolled.
The driver was a 70 year old female from Peepeekeesis First Nations. She was ejected from the vehicle.
RCMP say the vehicle ignited on fire . Abernathy Fire Rescue and Balcarres EMS confirmed the female driver was deceased.
Highway 22 at the junction of Highway 10 was closed while a collision analyst investigated the accident.
The highway was reopened at 4 p.m. Sunday.
