Toronto Marathon road closures this weekend

Jeremy Cohn/Global News

Special events like the Toronto Marathon on Sunday are great for the city but it also means frustration to some due to the long list of road closures.

The race is scheduled to begin at the North York Civic Centre at 7:30 a.m. but road closures will occur much earlier.

The event route will take runners on Yonge Street from Finch Avenue to Davenport Road.

There will be lane restrictions in the area surrounding Bayview Avenue in the east, South Kingsway in the west, Lake Shore Boulevard in the south and Finch Avenue to the north.

The following Gardiner Expressway and Don Valley Parkway ramps will also be closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

– Gardiner Expressway eastbound ramp to Jarvis Street: access to Jarvis Street will be closed but access to Lake Shore Boulevard will remain open.
