MONTREAL – Two women are recovering in hospital after suffering stab wounds during an altercation in a bar on Saint-Laurent Boulevard, near Guilbault Street East early Saturday morning.
According to police a conflict broke out between the women in the bar at around 3 a.m. The conflict escalated and an 18-year-old woman was stabbed with an edge weapon.
A second woman, 21, tried to intervene and was also stabbed.
The two victims were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect fled the scene but was arrested nearby.
Montreal police spokesperson Daniel Lacoursière said the suspect has so far refused to identify herself.
She will be meeting investigators later during the day for questioning.
