EDMONTON — Homicide detectives have been called in to investigate a man’s death in the Alberta Avenue area overnight.

Police were called to the area of 116 Avenue and 97 Street after a man was found dead in an alley with “obvious signs of trauma.”

Just before 11 a.m. Saturday a heavy police presence remained in the neighbourhood. Police tape cordoned off an intersection and police officers could be seen walking through an area alleyway.
Police were first called to the scene at around 11:30 p.m. Friday. Police believe the victim is in his 40s.
Police have no suspects in custody and the homicide section continues to investigate.
An autopsy was originally scheduled for Monday morning, but has since been rescheduled for Tuesday morning.
