Cummings received a standing ovation as he was recognized with an induction into the Canadian Hall of Fame for his solo work. The former Guess Who frontman decided to dedicate that award to his hometown of Winnipeg.
Cummings said it was one of the biggest days of his life and that he was so nervous he almost started crying.
"I will always try and honour the music," Cummings said.
After receiving the award, he returned to the stage for a tribute performance, which also featured Jann Arden and the Tenors.
