REGINA – The Downtown Business Improvement District (BID) will be getting an additional 160 properties after a decision to expand was made at Tuesday’s city council meeting.
The expansion is estimated to bring in an additional $90,000 in membership fees, with a one per cent levy added to the properties on top of property taxes.

The BID’s executive director Judith Veresuk said their next step going foward is further consultation with the new membership.
“[The consultation is] to really understand where they feel the gaps are and to make sure that we tailor our services to meet their needs,” Veresuk said. “It’s something that we do with our current businesses, and I’m sure there’s overlap in those gaps and in those needs.”
