Canadian musician The Weeknd, who was supposed to accompany Rihanna on her Anti tour across Europe, has bowed out three months before his planned start.
Billboard confirmed the news, as did Live Nation, who issued the following statement on Wednesday morning: “Due to some unforeseen changes with upcoming projects, The Weeknd will no longer be joining Rihanna on her upcoming international Anti World Tour.”

The Anti European leg was set to begin on June 17 in Amsterdam.
At this point, it’s unclear who Rihanna will select to replace The Weeknd, though maybe she could select another Canadian — Drake. After all, he’s already appeared onstage at one of her recent shows, and performs in her hit single Work.

She told Ellen DeGeneres in February that she would love to tour with Drake.
“I would love to go on tour with Drake, actually,” she said. “That has to happen.”
