There has been more violence on the streets of Surrey this morning.

A man is in hospital after being shot. Police responded to the area of 144 Street and 92 Avenue around 2 a.m. for reports of shots fired. They found shell casings in the area.

Shortly after that, a man showed up to Surrey Memorial Hospital with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound.

The victim is a 23-year-old man from Surrey who is known to police. He is currently in stable condition.

Initial indications are that this is a targeted incident and officers are still looking into whether there are any links between this shooting and previous shots fired incidents over the past few weeks in Surrey.

Anyone with further information is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or, if they wish to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or submit a tip at www.solvecrime.ca.
