Nicole Sarauer of the NDP has won the Regina Douglas Park riding with 3,220 votes beating out the Sask. Party’s CJ Katz who got 2,545 votes.
Summary: This is an urban riding in the city of Regina. MLA Russ Marchuk was the MLA in this riding but has retired from politics. This riding will be appointing a new MLA.
Boundaries: This district is in the central part of Regina and its boundaries are Ross Avenue to the north, Broad Street to the west, Wascana Lake to the south and Ring Road to the east.
Last Election: In the 2011 election the Saskatchewn Party’s Russ Marchuk defeated then NDP leader Dwain Lingenfelter by just over 900 votes, 52 per cent to 41 per cent.
History: This riding has historically been an NDP riding with the NDP holding a seat in this area from 1986 to 2011. However, while the name is the same only 53 per cent of this riding was part of the former Regina Douglas Park with 20 per cent coming from Regina Dewdney and 20 per cent from Regina Northeast.
