EDMONTON — One person was killed and three people were injured in a two-vehicle collision southwest of Edmonton early Saturday morning.
At around 1:35 a.m., RCMP were called to a collision between a pick-up truck and an SUV on Highway 22, about half a kilometre north of the 50 Street intersection in the town of Drayton Valley.
A 33-year-old woman from the Drayton Valley area, who was a passenger in the SUV, was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman’s name is not being released.
The driver and another passenger from the SUV, both 33-year-old women, were taken to hospital with what police believe were non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the truck, a 44-year-old man, was also taken to hospital with what police believe were non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation but police do not believe speed or alcohol were factors.
Drayton Valley is located about 145 kilometres southwest of Edmonton.
