Police have laid charges, but no assault charges, in relation to an assault that sent a man to hospital on Sunday night.
Officers were called to a house party at an apartment on Lady Hammond Road shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday where a physical altercation broke out between several people inside.
One man was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries. He is still in hospital and police aren’t able to talk to him due to his condition.
Police don’t consider the assault to be random.
They interviewed three women Monday who were at the party and charged them with unrelated to the assault.
A 24-year-old woman has been charged with two counts of breach of recognizance. Another 24-year-old woman has been charged with breach of an undertaking, and a 22-year-old woman who spat on an officer has been charged with assaulting a police officer.
All three women have been released and are scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and are asking anyone with information on the incident to come forward by calling police at 902-490-5016 or by contacting www.crimestoppers.ns.ca anonymously.
