CALGARY – The death of a woman whose body was found in a Montgomery hotel room isn’t criminal in nature, police said Friday.

Officers were called to the Red Carpet Inn and Suites, located in the 4600 block of 16 Avenue N.W., at around 2 p.m. on Thursday by a witness who discovered the body.

The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit was called in to investigate, as is standard in all undetermined deaths.

On Friday, police said an autopsy confirmed the death wasn’t suspicious.

“As it is not believed to be criminal in nature, no further details will be released,” police said in a news release.
