MARKHAM, Ont. – Police are appealing to witnesses to come forward following a shooting in Markham, Ont.

York Regional Police say they were contacted by Toronto police after two men – a 66-year-old from Markham and a 50-year-old from Toronto – walked into a hospital early Tuesday suffering from gunshot wounds.

Investigation say an altercation occurred in a Markham plaza late Sunday night in which two men were shot, and they left the scene suffering from non-life threatening gunshot wounds.

Police say they believe that the commercial unit where the altercation occurred was operating as an illegal gaming location.
