EDMONTON — Two Hills RCMP are searching for a suspect after a robbery and kidnapping in Edmonton earlier this month.

Officers say a man was robbed and kidnapped by four suspects on Wednesday, Jan. 13. RCMP arrested three of the suspects when the vehicle they were in went off the road on Highway 855 near Andrew, Alta.

RCMP say the victim was not injured in the ordeal, but he has not been forthcoming with information about the incident.

Officers wouldn’t release any details about the victim’s identity and could not confirm if the victim knew the suspects.

The fourth suspect, who police believe to be Lyle Cory Crane, has been on the loose since Jan. 13. The 38-year-old is wanted on a warrant and is considered to be armed with a firearm and dangerous.

Crane was last seen driving a 1995 two-door Toyota Tercel, which police believe was stolen. It’s blue or purple in colour and the paint was peeling, RCMP said. The vehicle is also equipped with a welded metal bracket for attaching a tow bar on the front bumper.

RCMP say the vehicle was stolen near the area where the other suspects were arrested.

Anyone with information about Crane’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or their local police service. Anonymous information can be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online.

Andrew is located about 100 kilometres northeast of Edmonton.
