If you’re planning a vacation (or even staycation) in Canada, there’s a new list of top-rated accommodations to add to your bucket list. It includes everything from affordable two-star hotels to luxurious five-star outposts and even quaint bed and breakfasts.
The list has been put together by Trivago, a hotel site and aggregator , based on more than 200 million travellers’ ratings from over 30 different booking sites.
British Columbia’s accommodations nab 11 of the top 25 spots on the list.
“B.C. is a very popular tourist destination for Canadians as well as for travellers around the world,” Trivago’s Claude Paradis told Global News. “It is, in fact, the second province with the most hotels in the country.”
Ontario, which has the most hotels, comes in second. It has seven top-rated accommodations, most of which are bed and breakfasts in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
“We can definitely see that B&Bs can compete at the same level as big hotels when it comes to the appreciation of guest stays,” he said.
“While larger or more well-known hotels have top facilities and amenities, smaller accommodation providers are known for going that extra mile to personalize a service in order to make guests feel welcome, important and special. It really all comes down to what type of stay the guest is looking for.”
Here’s a closer look at some of the top picks across the country and in each region.
