SASKATOON – Walmart Canada is joining the list of retailers charging customers who choose to use plastic bags. As of Feb. 9, customers who request a plastic non-reusable bag will have to pay five cents a bag. Reusable bags will also be available at a discounted price of 25 cents.

Walmart says this is an initiative that has worked to reduce the use of bags by more than half at their stores in other countries.
