WINNIPEG — If you have been debating getting your cat fixed, you might be able to get a deal from the Winnipeg Humane Society.

The animal shelter is offering to spay or neuter cats for $5 during February. The deal is only being offered to Winnipeggers on low or fixed incomes.

Fix ’em February is a joint program with the City of Winnipeg Animal Services Agency to help deal with cat overpopulation.

In addition to the month long program, the Winnipeg Humane Society offers subsidized spay or neuters for $25 for low income families.

People who want to take advantage of Fix ’em February can register online. Proof of income or social assistance plan number will have to be shown when the cat is dropped off.
