EDMONTON- It’s the ‘purr-fect’ way to meet your feline match!
The Edmonton Humane Society hosted ‘Cats On Your Mats’ on Saturday, a beginner-friendly yoga class that welcomes cats right into the studio to socialize with potential owners.
“They’re pretty social, they like to rub up against you. They like to stretch with you, they like to walk around with you – just like a friend,” said yoga instructor Charlene Bergenstrom.
The weekly class has been such a success, it’s been extended into the summer and dates are booked up through the spring.
“You can check out your cat if you’re looking to adopt and find one that has a personality that will fit your needs,” Bergenstrom adds.
Twenty people and 11 cats took part in Saturday’s morning class.
The classes start at 9 a.m. and cost $20. Participants must pre-register on the Edmonton Humane Society’s website.
