Halifax Police have identified the victim in this week’s homicide as 58-year-old Frank John Lampe.

Officers were called to an apartment building at 10 Harlington Crescent shortly after 10 p.m. on Thursday. Once on scene, police located Lampe’s body in a hallway. An autopsy was complete, but the cause of death is not being released.

A short time later, a 20-year-old man was taken into custody near a bus stop on Willet Street. The suspect was then transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Around 11 p.m. on Friday, police released the 20-year-old from custody without charges.

Investigators are asking anyone with information on the incident, particularly anyone who may have seen a suspect fleeing the apartment building, to call Halifax Regional Police or Crime Stoppers.
