MONTREAL – Police officers from the Régie intermunicipale de police du Lac-des-Deux-Montagnes have reportedly shot a man dead in Saint-Joseph-du-Lac, not far from Oka.
According to the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), officers were responding to a family dispute at a home on Clément Street.
The man, 52, was allegedly brandishing a chainsaw and confronted police when they arrived.
At least one shot was fired.
He was taken to hospital, where he died of his injuries.
The investigation has been handed over to the SQ’s major crimes unit.
