EDMONTON – A 23-year-old man is facing charges after a tense situation at West Edmonton Mall Tuesday afternoon.
Police were called to the mall after receiving reports of a man walking through the mall with a gun in his waistband.

At around 5 p.m., several officers could be seen both outside and inside the mall, near the waterpark.
After determining there was no risk to the public, officers followed the man until they were able to safely arrest him. Police said the entire incident lasted less than an hour.
The gun the man was carrying turned out to be a BB gun. The man is now facing charges including carrying a concealed weapon.
