Cold weather alerts issued for Toronto and Hamilton

Health officials in Toronto and Hamilton have issued alerts because of the expected drop in temperatures.

During cold weather alerts, services are put in place to help the homeless.

As well, people are urged to protect themselves from the lower temperatures and check on those who would be vulnerable to the cold.

Temperatures are forecast to drop to -12 C in Toronto and -11 in Hamilton on Sunday night, with winds of 20 km/h – gusting to 40 – producing colder windchill values.
