Police are investigating a rash of pick-up truck thefts in the south Okanagan in the past few weeks.
“Thieves appear to be targeting the Ford F250 and F350 pickup trucks,” says Cpl. Dan Moskaluk. “The crimes are occurring in the early morning hours between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. with some occurring during day time involving residential break-ins.”
Along with stolen trucks, RCMP say they’ve been dealing with a string of thefts from businesses and homes in Princeton, Oliver, Osoyoos, Keremeos and Okanagan Falls.
RCMP weren’t able to provide numbers on how many trucks had been stolen or how many businesses and homes had been broken into.
Police believe the thefts are connected and have identified ‘persons of interest’ but are not releasing further details or a description of any potential suspects.
“If you notice someone or a vehicle that looks out of place take note of descriptions and record licensed plate numbers and contact your local RCMP or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477 with any information,” says Moskaluk.
