WINNIPEG – A man is in critical condition after being shot in the lower body Tuesday evening in the West End.
Police said shots were fired around 6:00 p.m. at the 500 block of Spence Street by Sargent Avenue. Reports from the scene said when police arrived, it appeared as though an apartment building had been evacuated. About a dozen people were waiting in a city bus acting as a temporary shelter.

On Wednesday morning, police were still on scene and blocked off parts oft the area. Police said one person is in custody.
