A York Township, Pa. fire chief was caught on camera rescuing a man from a burning vehicle Monday morning.
Fire Chief Nate Tracey, a 27-year veteran, was the first one on scene after a call came in about a car crash on Indian Rock Dam Road.
Tracey is seen in the dash cam footage pulling the driver, identified as Greg Fabie of York, out of the vehicle and dragging him to safety from the flames in less than a minute.
It’s believed Fabie hit a utility pole. It’s not known what led to the incident.
There were other damages to the car, including the front of the vehicle being crushed in.
Fabie suffered head injuries and smoke inhalation, according to officials.
The driver was listed in “satisfactory condition” after arriving in hospital.
Police continue to investigate.
