Man killed in industrial accident at Alberta oilfield site

EDMONTON – A man is dead following an industrial accident at an oilfield site southwest of Edmonton.

Breton RCMP received a call from EMS at around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

RCMP said EMS arrived on scene and found the man dead. It happened at an oilfield site in the area of Township Road 465 and Range Road 21, west of Pigeon Lake.

“The adult male is someone who is familiar with the worksite there and does do deliveries there on a regular basis,” said RCMP Insp. Gibson Glavin.

“As part of the investigation, Occupational Health and Safety has been called out and will be attending that worksite to conduct their own investigation.”

Gibson said there doesn’t appear to be any criminal element to the death.
