5-10 cm of snow on the way; weather alerts issued across southern Manitoba

WINNIPEG – If you’re hoping for more snow before Christmas, Tuesday will be full of flurries turning into snowflakes starting in the afternoon.

A storm system over Washington is expected to spread the snow to southern Manitoba and continue until Wednesday morning.

About 5 – 10 cm are expected to fall overnight in Winnipeg and southeast parts of the province.

Manitobans closer to the U.S. and Ontario borders could be waking up to 10 – 15 cm of snow Wednesday.

Environment Canada said there will be a white Christmas in Winnipeg on Friday.
