Major accident on Coquihalla leads to traffic delays south of Merritt

The Coquihalla Highway was closed northbound at Larson Hill due to an accident involving a passenger vehicle and a semi-truck.

RCMP say a blue passenger vehicle heading northbound spun out of control south of Merritt and bounced off a number of highway dividers before colliding with a semi, which struck the vehicle’s passenger side. The driver of the passenger vehicle was transported to hospital.

Traffic was delayed near Larson Hill for much of Saturday morning. Northbound lanes re-opened around noon.
